Paulius Mekionis: why should artists make reproductions?
Copying is one of the main expressions of mankind’s development and improvement. By copying people often improve features of a previous expression, learn and create innovations. Without copying or imitation there would be no different styles of music or art. But that’s not what I’m talking about. Being one of the first gallerists in Lithuania, who works with artists’ reproductions, I feel obliged to share the benefits of the process of copying. So, in short, about art reproduction firsthand.

Ernestas Parulskis: the price of art photography
The beginnings of art photography (in the context of the art market this is not what I call a set of photographic styles, tools or creative ideologies, but a photographic production for which collectors or experienced dilettantes are willing to pay an agreed price) pricing began in the middle of the 19th century, taking over or imitating the dissemination principles of other reproducible art and graphics: valued are only signed, printed by or with the supervision by the artist, limited editions. Any other graphic product created using the same cliché, above the limited edition numbers, without the supervision of the artist or after his death, are referred to as copies of the original and do not hold any value in the art market.

On art works in interiors or interiors without measure by Indra Marcinkevičienė
What is the recipe for a successful experimental interior, which mistakes should be avoided when purchasing a new work of art and why paintings should not be placed next to other paintings? Answering questions on links between works of art and interiors is the founder of “Interjeras be saiko” (eng. “Interiors without measure”) Indra Marcinkevičienė – an eccentric and original interiors and furniture designer. She’s not afraid to mix bright colours, styles or materials to create surprising contrasts. Boredom, in her words, “is the worst thing that can happen.” Marcinkevičienė, who became known as an interior designer, has recently created original design products, such as settees, chairs and textile works. Art critic V. Vitkienė when writing about Marcinkevičienė, says: “by designing the furniture the designer creates an object with distinctive meaning, combining function and mystery. Her created interiors fascinate us by the balance, playfulness and individuality between works of art and the furniture that match them”.
